History students acquire expertise and abilities that prepare them for diverse career paths and allow them to apply historical and humanities-oriented viewpoints to major societal challenges, including issues of racial inequality, social injustice, conflict, and warfare.
After completing the program successfully, students will achieve these educational objectives:
Exhibit information proficiency. This involves skillfully using academic databases to locate suitable primary and secondary materials, evaluating the reliability and pertinence of available secondary sources, and efficiently obtaining relevant and appropriate references.
Develop meaningful historical inquiries and craft compelling historical arguments. This encompasses establishing a substantial and supportable thesis, offering knowledgeable examination of pertinent historical data, and acknowledging gaps, inconsistencies, and oversights in one's analysis.
