Ethnic Studies is a multidisciplinary area of study that examines how race and ethnicity have shaped societies, focusing mainly on the United States while considering worldwide connections. Pursuing an Ethnic Studies degree equips students with comprehensive knowledge and critical thinking abilities to tackle matters of diversity and inequality across various domains, including government systems, cultural productions, and artistic expressions.
After finishing the program successfully, graduates will achieve these educational goals:
Explain the stories and backgrounds of racial minority groups in America, recognizing them as fundamental components of both national and global historical narratives.
Examine how systemic discrimination—including racism, sexism, and homophobia—operates beyond personal prejudices through institutional structures and societal patterns.
