The Spanish major offers a student-focused, proficiency-driven language program that emphasizes communication skills, equipping learners to thrive in diverse multilingual and multicultural settings both locally and internationally.
After completing the program successfully, graduates will achieve these educational goals:
Attain Intermediate-High level or comparable proficiency in a non-English language, verified through an official oral assessment.
Interpret and evaluate various literary and nonfiction texts in their original languages from multilingual and non-English speaking societies.
Engage with, critically examine, and respond to visual and multimedia content including films, videos, and digital media from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
