Autism is a neurological condition that impacts approximately 1 in 68 children. This specialized certification program equips educators and support professionals with the skills to effectively assist students on the autism spectrum (ASD).
The curriculum can be taken independently or as part of ODU's Master's Degree in Education with a Special Education concentration. The program includes four graduate-level courses (totaling 12 credits), available through in-person classes, online (self-paced), and live virtual sessions. Many courses incorporate practical, hands-on learning experiences in real-world settings.
