Ohio State has a distinguished history in Social Work, dating back to 1875 when we introduced our inaugural social work course, followed by conferring our first Master's degree in 1923. As the nation's oldest continuously accredited social work program within a public institution since 1919, we take pride in our legacy. Our Traditional MSW program launches every Autumn semester, offering both on-campus and online options. This program caters to students holding undergraduate degrees in fields outside social work or those who earned their Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) over five years prior. Students can complete the Traditional MSW degree in two years through full-time study or opt for a part-time schedule
