The Ohio State University's Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures hosts one of the nation's most established and extensive German studies programs. With sixteen faculty members, the department provides a thorough curriculum encompassing literary and cultural studies, intellectual history, and professional German language training. Specialized areas of focus include film studies, aesthetic philosophy, gender studies, cognitive research, minority literature, environmental criticism, second language acquisition, Germanic linguistics, and Scandinavian studies.
A baccalaureate or professional degree (or equivalent foreign credential) from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into your graduate program. A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all prior undergraduate and graduate work.
