The Interdisciplinary PhD program in Biostatistics aims to equip graduates for careers in academia, industry, and government by fostering expertise in both methodological development and applied problem-solving in biomedical and public health contexts. This collaborative program, offered through the Department of Statistics and the College of Public Health's Division of Biostatistics, features two specialization tracks: Methodology and Public Health. Students enter the joint program and select their focus area after successfully completing the Qualifier 1 Exam during their first year. Both specializations share a common curriculum for the initial two years, with all participants earning an MS in Statistics as they progress toward their doctoral degree.
