Ohio State's Aerospace Engineering graduate program, ranked among the nation's top 20, is revolutionizing aviation concepts. Our scholars are pioneering pressure-sensitive coatings for aerodynamic analysis, advancing distributed engine control systems, enhancing supersonic aircraft efficiency, and numerous other innovations. At Ohio State, your research will propel you to unprecedented achievements. The Aerospace Engineering PhD program offers two distinct tracks: a direct BS-to-PhD route and an MS-to-PhD pathway. The BS-PhD option enables students to commence doctoral studies immediately after earning their bachelor's degree, while the MS-PhD path requires completion of a master's program first. Earning a doctorate demands at least 80 graduate credits post-baccalaureate, combining coursework with dissertation research. For students entering with a master's degree (from Ohio State or another institution), a minimum of 50 additional graduate credits is mandatory. All PhD requirements must be fulfilled within a nine-year timeframe.
