Systems Engineering is a multidisciplinary methodology that facilitates the creation of effective systems. The M.S. program in Systems Engineering trains professionals to act as key liaisons among management, clients, vendors, and specialized engineers during system development. While other engineering fields focus on specific system components (like electronics, mechanics, ergonomics, aerodynamics, or software), Systems Engineers emphasize integrating all these elements into a unified and efficient whole.
Systems Engineers contribute a unique viewpoint to engineering processes—including requirements specification, high-level functional designs, project oversight, lifecycle cost evaluation, and product lifecycle management—that helps structure and synchronize other engineering efforts.
