The Oakland University-Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia represents a partnership between Oakland University and the prestigious Beaumont Health System. Together, these institutions create an outstanding learning environment for training Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. This DNP: Nurse Anesthesia program equips advanced practice nurses (APRNs) with specialized anesthesia expertise. The coursework combines DNP, APRN, and specialized nurse anesthesia training, covering advanced physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and hands-on anatomical dissection. Through clinical rotations, students bridge theory with practice, gaining comprehensive experience across all anesthesia specialties to become skilled providers capable of delivering care to patients of all ages and health conditions undergoing diverse procedures. The program emphasizes translating research into clinical practice, evaluating patient outcomes, and improving healthcare systems to enhance quality and safety. DNP graduates develop essential leadership abilities to implement evidence-based care, modify healthcare delivery systems, and assess outcomes for patient groups and communities.
Following 36 months of intensive study, graduates qualify to take the National Board on Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists exam to earn their CRNA credential.
