This interdisciplinary program provides a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. Drawing on faculty expertise and research infrastructure from both the Biological Sciences and Chemistry departments, the biochemistry curriculum equips students for careers in biochemical research, advanced studies in biochemistry or molecular biology, or professional training in medicine, dentistry, and related health fields. Biochemistry undergraduates gain hands-on experience by working alongside faculty in active research laboratories, participating in diverse projects including investigations into metabolism, genetic regulation, neurodegenerative diseases, oncology, endocrine function, immune system chemistry, molecular genetics, and protein architecture.
