For those with an AAS degree in healthcare, our applied health sciences program offers an accessible and cost-effective route to earn your bachelor's degree and advance further. You may transfer up to 65 credits from an accredited community college, allowing you to finish your applied health sciences degree at Oakland University in approximately two years. Earning a BS in applied health opens doors to more rewarding career opportunities with increased earning potential and advancement possibilities compared to an AAS degree. This program also serves as a stepping stone to graduate studies, medical school, physician assistant programs, or other professional degrees. Our applied health sciences curriculum is tailored for students holding AAS degrees in fields like Dental Assisting, Health Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Occupational Therapy Assisting, Pharmacy Technology, Physical Therapy Assisting, Respiratory Therapy, or Surgical Technology. If your AAS specialization isn't mentioned, you may request enrollment approval from the interdisciplinary health sciences department chair.
