The Engineering Design Innovation (EDI) Master's program is an intensive 18-month graduate course that equips students from diverse backgrounds with skills to tackle complex design challenges through an equity-focused, human-centered methodology. As they address real-world user needs, EDI participants fully engage with design thinking methodologies - including user research, visual conceptualization, quick prototyping, and continuous refinement. Graduates emerge prepared to guide multidisciplinary teams and develop revolutionary products and services. Segal Design Institute's EDI Master of Science program is designed for engineering graduates or those with technical/analytical bachelor's degrees who aspire to pioneer future products, services, and technological solutions.
Participants master human-centered strategies to address design challenges, employing techniques like observational research, visual representation, swift prototyping, and cyclical improvement processes.
