Our English graduate program stands out in the region by offering literature, writing, and creative writing courses designed as flexible umbrella classes. These courses feature rotating content with each offering, providing students with the diverse, in-depth experience essential for quality Master's programs in English. The Department of Language, Literature, and Writing boasts twelve expert faculty members—eleven holding doctorates and one with an M.F.A.—who specialize in literature, language theory, pedagogy, and creative writing. With intimate class sizes (typically 5-15 students), our engaging, approachable professors foster a welcoming academic atmosphere. Students enjoy a collaborative environment where strong professional bonds form. The department provides five graduate assistantships, with additional opportunities available across campus.
