What makes our Bearcats thrive after graduation is their hands-on learning. History students can choose from over 35 field experiences and internships during their Northwest journey.
When you reach graduation day, you'll have mastered critical thinking and forming evidence-based conclusions. These skills are ideal for careers in government, public service, business, museums, historical preservation, as well as writing and research fields.
An added advantage? Intimate class sizes. While Northwest maintains a 21:1 student-faculty ratio overall, history classes are even smaller. Professors will know you personally and support your academic growth.
The program also provides numerous engagement opportunities with fellow history enthusiasts. Through STOA Talks, students present their research publicly. In one memorable project, a classroom transformed into a vibrant recreation of the 1889 Exposition Universelle, complete with art displays and academic presentations - truly bringing history to life.
