The Master of Science in Health Sciences program offered by the School of Interdisciplinary Health Professions equips students from diverse healthcare backgrounds for leadership, management, and teaching roles in health professions or for advancement to doctoral programs. This 30-credit curriculum cultivates essential skills in cross-disciplinary communication, healthcare quality assessment, culturally sensitive leadership, and research-based decision making, preparing graduates to excel in both professional and academic settings. Qualification Requirements

Submit Two Letters of Recommendation to the Graduate School. Official Transcripts be sent from all of the Applicant's Undergraduate and Graduate Institutions directly to the Graduate School. An applicant whose native language is not English must present an IELTS score of 6.5 or alternatively, a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the TOELF ibt. Normally, to be considered for admission, a non-U.S. citizen shall have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. A minimum 2.75 overall GPA on a 4.00 system or a 3.20 GPA with 15 or more semester hours of graduate work at an accredited institution.
To be admitted to the M.S. in Health Sciences program students must be admitted to the Graduate School and must have obtained a baccalaureate or higher degree in a field of study related to Health Sciences prior to the start of the NIU term for which the student is admitted. Required application materials include: a minimum of two letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose to demonstrate communication skills and interest in the program, and an official GRE score. Scores on the GRE are waived for applicants who earned a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.25 or higher from an accredited institution. The program will assess preparedness and academic potential in the unique context of each student's personal experience and career goals. Admission assessment will consider all achievements, both academic and non-academic, to enroll students with a broad range of characteristics and perspectives. Prospective students may be admitted to begin in the fall or spring semesters.
