The Master of Public Health program at the School of Nursing and Health Studies enhances your leadership abilities and deepens your understanding of diverse population health needs. You'll concentrate on healthcare planning and disease prevention while choosing between specializations in health services management or health promotion. This degree equips you to address, analyze, and enhance global health challenges. The M.P.H. curriculum develops professionals for leadership roles in public health organizations and related agencies. Specialization options include health promotion or health services management. Those pursuing the health promotion track gain preparation for the Certified Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S.) exam administered by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. Health services management students who complete specific electives qualify to take the Illinois Nursing Home Administrators Licensing Examination.

Qualification Requirements
Normally, to be considered for admission, a non-U.S. citizen shall have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. A minimum 2.75 overall GPA on a 4.00 system or a 3.20 GPA with 15 or more semester hours of graduate work at an accredited institution.
A four-year baccalaureate degree.
Official transcripts. (Unofficial transcripts suffice during the application process, but official ones must be submitted to the Graduate School before students are permitted to register for classes).
Minimum undergraduate or graduate G.P.A. of 3.00.
No GRE required, but could be supportive if over 25th percentile.
Well-written personal statement, which serves as a writing sample.
