Explore diverse geographic regions - including Africa, East or South Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Russia along with the Former Soviet States - through interdisciplinary academic approaches. Area studies have formed an integral part of SIPA's academic framework since its establishment. The School's regional focus areas enable students to examine particular geographic regions from various scholarly perspectives. You'll gain insights into specific world regions, their unique policy issues, and the internal and external forces shaping these challenges. Available regional specializations currently cover Africa, East Asia, East Central Europe, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Russia and the Former Soviet States, South Asia, and the United States.
