Launched in 2010, the Master of Public Health (MPH) program earned accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health in 2012. Serving as the inaugural professional degree within UCI's Public Health initiative, it forms a foundational element of the planned UCI School of Population and Public Health. This program prepares public health professionals to work both independently and as team members, developing and executing strategies that lessen disease impacts and disabilities across Southern California's diverse populations and other regions.
To be eligible to apply for the M.P.H. program, applicants must meet certain minimum academic requirements. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution, have earned a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B average) in undergraduate course work, and possess strong verbal and quantitative skills as reflected by Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test scores. Applicants may also submit standardized test scores from the MCAT, GMAT, or LSAT in lieu of the GRE.
