This program offers focused training in mobile application development for platforms including iPhone, iPad, Android devices, and Windows phones. Available to all graduate students, the certificate requires participants to maintain satisfactory academic progress, earn at least a B in every course, and finish all requirements within six years. All coursework must be completed through NIU. Students may need to complete prerequisite programming courses before beginning certificate classes, based on their previous experience. With departmental approval, certificate courses may count toward graduate degree requirements. The Computer Science Department maintains the authority to restrict enrollment in certificate courses as needed.

Qualification Requirements
An applicant whose native language is not English must present an IELTS score of 6.5 or alternatively, a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the TOEFL ibt. Normally, to be considered for admission, a non-U.S. citizen shall have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. A minimum 2.75 overall GPA on a 4.00 system or a 3.20 GPA with 15 or more semester hours of graduate work at an accredited institution.
