The Master's in Software Engineering (MSSE) - Computer Engineering specialization provides students with cutting-edge expertise in software creation. The ECE Department's MSSE curriculum serves three primary student demographics:
Technically-focused professionals seeking to strengthen fundamental abilities and concentrate on specialized fields including concurrent computing, integrated systems, information security, or business intelligence.
Aspiring software project leaders who gain practical exposure to comprehend programmer requirements and efficiently solve technical obstacles.
Engineering practitioners with minimal coding background, who complete preparatory classes and core MSSE coursework for an accelerated immersion in software engineering. This track has grown particularly attractive to mechanical and aeronautical engineers assuming software-related responsibilities in their professional environments.
The unconditional admission requirements are: a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET or CSAB accredited program with a minimum of 3.0 averages on a 4.0 scale, a GRE score of 300, 3.0 on analytical writing, and, for international students, a TOEFL score with all sub scores ? 18.
In order to be considered for admission to degree programs with no additional English language training required, applicants must meet the following minimums on the TOEFL or IELTS.
TOEFL (iBT): all sub-scores greater than or equal to 18 OR
IELTS: all sub-scores greater than or equal to 6.0
