Certificate in Young Children with Disabilities Studies in Dekalb United States | Northern Illinois University

This certificate program equips students with specialized coursework centered on evaluating and teaching young children who have disabilities. Upon completion, participants will gain expertise in assessing communication, social interaction, and cognitive abilities in young children, along with strategies for offering suitable support to both children and their families. The undergraduate certificate in young children with disabilities studies is available to all Northern Illinois University enrollees. All coursework must be finished at NIU within a three-year period. Prospective certificate seekers must obtain approval and guidance from advisors in the Special and Early Education Department.
