The College of Health and Human Sciences enables students to create customized academic programs that diverge from standard major and minor offerings. These personalized study plans, known as contract majors, combine existing university courses to culminate in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Students must meet all university graduation criteria, with the contract major fulfilling the role of a traditional departmental major. (Refer to the University Graduation Requirements section for details.) This unique program empowers students with specific academic goals to develop a tailored major under faculty guidance. Each program must center on a coherent, engaging theme. Prospective contract majors should consult with an advisor from the department most relevant to their proposed coursework. Final proposals require approval from both the College's associate dean and the Contract Major Committee.
