The dual Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and Master of Public Health program enables students to obtain both degrees concurrently.
Students admitted to Northeastern's Physician Assistant Studies master's program can opt for this combined PA/MPH degree, a collaborative offering between the PA Studies and Public Health programs. This integrated approach lets participants complete both qualifications faster than pursuing them individually, reducing costs while expanding clinical expertise with a population health focus.
Dual degree candidates complete coursework fulfilling requirements for both the MS in Physician Assistant Studies and MPH programs. The curriculum is designed for adaptability while integrating urban health concepts to enhance PA training. Students start with primarily online MPH classes from January through mid-August before transitioning to on-campus PA studies in late August. Throughout their two-year PA program, they simultaneously finish remaining MPH courses, graduating with both degrees simultaneously. Refer to the sample course outline below for additional details.
