The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering offers a specialization in Mechatronics. Mechatronics blends mechanical and electronic engineering concepts. This interdisciplinary field integrates electrical, mechanical, computer, materials, chemical, and industrial engineering for advanced product design. Within the MIE department, the mechatronics and systems research group focuses on intelligent systems that combine mechanical and electrical components with sensors, actuators, and computerized controls. Our mechatronics research emphasizes smart, integrated systems and their real-world uses, spanning industrial automation, robotics, and biological applications. Through both research and coursework, we equip students to harness mechatronic principles for groundbreaking engineering advancements.
