The Theatre Department thrives as a dynamic collective of students, staff, and professors, united by principles of kindness, honesty, mutual regard, and academic excellence. Serving as a center for artistic investigation, we commit ourselves to performance arts as both a vibrant creative medium and a cross-disciplinary field of study.
Our undergraduate programs integrate hands-on theatrical creation (including staging, technical design, and acting) with scholarly exploration and research through practice. Students gain comprehensive exposure to and specialized understanding of theatre as a multifaceted artistic discipline. Our curriculum equips learners to produce and share insights via inventive artistic research, work cooperatively with goodwill and principle, employ antiracist theatrical methods, pursue professional opportunities that foster meaningful, principled, and socially conscious contributions promoting equity, and emerge as culturally aware individuals who critically examine theatre's influence on societal values and community dynamics.
