The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre offers a liberal arts education with a focus on theatrical studies. Alongside comprehensive liberal arts coursework, the B.A. program incorporates hands-on creative training through studio classes and performance opportunities. Participants must develop analytical skills in performance studies through classes like theatre history, scriptwriting, and dramatic theory, while also actively participating in productions or contributing to various aspects of theatrical creation.
This degree opens doors to diverse career paths and allows students to complement their studies with minors in disciplines like English, business, or communications. The theatre B.A. equips graduates for further academic study or careers in professional theatre, education, or related fields such as media relations. Those pursuing advanced education typically enroll in master's, law, or doctoral programs. All students complete fundamental theatre and dance courses alongside the general education requirements set by the College of the Arts, the university, and Florida state regulations.
Students must have completed a secondary and college or university credentials from non-U.S. institutions.
The university will require the following minimum scores on the redesigned SAT: SAT Reading = 24, Writing and Language = 25 and Math = 24. On the ACT, a minimum score of 19 on the Reading section and 19 on the Math section.
