Anthropology offers a comprehensive, intercultural examination of humankind, investigating the varied ways people exist and find purpose across societies. Northeastern's anthropology program introduces students to a wide range of cultural viewpoints from historical and modern civilizations, encourages involvement with pressing modern challenges like worldwide disparities, progress, city growth, and societal transformation, while deepening awareness of our intricate global reality. Both sociology and cultural anthropology deliver essential frameworks for analyzing human social structures and traditions, comprehending community operations, exploring circumstances that drive institutional shifts, and documenting collaborative patterns that enable collective existence.
