The interdisciplinary major in History, Culture, and the Law enables students to explore how legal frameworks evolve through cultural influences and historical contexts, while examining how legal mechanisms can drive societal transformation. Through foundational coursework in historical methodology and legal theory, students apply their emerging interdisciplinary skills within one of seven specialized cultural concentrations: Africana Studies and Culture, Asian Studies and Culture, Colonialism and Culture, Digital Humanities, International Film and Cultures, Gender and Sexuality Studies, or Latino/a, Latin American, and Caribbean Studies. This program cultivates adaptable thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration skills, and cultural awareness - equipping graduates to create meaningful change in their professional fields.
