The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides advanced degree programs culminating in Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) qualifications. Students can specialize in diverse fields such as engineering mechanics, fatigue and fracture analysis, biomechanics and biomaterials, thermal systems design, fluid dynamics, energy systems, controls and mechatronics, or materials engineering with a focus on polymers, composites, and nanomaterials.
To obtain an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, students must complete at least 30 credit hours. The program offers two distinct pathways: a thesis-based track or a comprehensive study alternative.
