The Master of Science in International Agribusiness from North Dakota State University's Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics equips students with both theoretical knowledge and global exposure necessary for success in international agribusiness professions. The curriculum encompasses studies in applied economics, quantitative analysis, and global agribusiness strategies covering management, finance, and marketing.
Participants must complete an international component, achievable through one of three pathways:
Option one involves undertaking an international internship. These opportunities, which may be compensated or voluntary, are available with global agribusiness firms, governmental bodies, or nonprofit entities. Students can arrange semester-long or summer internships independently or through NDSU's International Student and Study Abroad Services office. Each internship plan must be developed collaboratively between the student and their primary advisor, then authorized by both the Graduate Program Committee (GPC) and the student's advisory panel.
Alternatively, students may enroll in graduate-level business or agribusiness courses at foreign universities during semester or summer study abroad programs. These academic plans require joint development by students and their primary advisors, followed by endorsement from the GPC and the student's advisory committee.
A third option allows students to complete a minimum of six additional credit hours in NDSU coursework focused on international business or agribusiness. These classes must receive prior approval from the student's advisory committee and be incorporated into their official study plan before registration.
