Our Teacher Education graduate program fosters the growth of educational leaders committed to promoting equity in learning for all individuals. The curriculum aligns with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) and Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC), emphasizing practical research and educator development. Designed for working professionals, the M.Ed. program incorporates action research projects. Students are advised to collaborate with academic mentors to define and reach their educational and career objectives.
The content-focused master's programs in Teacher Education enhance both teaching methodologies and subject mastery. Participants complete four core pedagogy courses plus a minimum of nine credits in advanced content coursework, totaling 33-36 credits. Each candidate develops a customized study plan with their graduate committee and advisor. Note that this degree path doesn't qualify for teaching licensure; students seeking certification should consult their advisors about alternative options.
