The Educational Leadership program aims to equip professionals with the skills needed for leadership positions in both K-12 and higher education environments. This includes roles such as teacher leaders, mid-level administrators (like school principals or university administrators), and top-tier positions such as district superintendents.
Available degree options include a 32-credit Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership - K-12 Leadership, as well as a 36-credit Master of Education (M.Ed.) or Master of Science (M.S.) in Educational Leadership - Higher Education Administration.
K-12 Leadership
The K-12 Leadership track helps channel your dedication to education by developing the professional and organizational abilities required for student-centered leadership. Graduates gain the expertise, competencies, and practical experience to guide others through collaborative and evidence-based decision-making.
This program holds accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approval from the North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board. Note that evolving national and state regulations may impact program requirements.
Higher Education Administration
The Higher Education Administration track focuses on building foundational knowledge in practice, research, and theory for leadership roles in post-secondary institutions. Graduates emerge with the tools and experience to drive meaningful change on college and university campuses.
