The Biomedical Engineering (BME) graduate programs, including both Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees, are collaborative initiatives between North Dakota State University's College of Engineering and the University of North Dakota's School of Medicine and Health Sciences along with its College of Engineering and Mines.
These BME programs enable technically skilled individuals to gain expertise in high-demand industry specialties while expanding their professional prospects. The interdisciplinary graduate programs aim to:
Serve regional students pursuing biomedical engineering education.
Encourage participation from women and underrepresented groups in this emerging field.
Provide instruction and training through biomedical-focused coursework and research initiatives.
Expand biomedical knowledge via joint research projects led by faculty from UND's medical and engineering schools, NDSU's engineering college, and other qualified researchers from both institutions.
Foster economic growth by creating intellectual property through biomedical research and device innovation, leading to new business ventures and industry attraction.
