The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABEN) provides graduate programs culminating in Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. The curriculum focuses on addressing engineering challenges in agricultural production, food and biofuel processing, and environmental resource conservation. Specialized training opportunities include: irrigation and drainage systems, agricultural water management, soil and water conservation, animal waste treatment, atmospheric conditions, food and biofuel production engineering, bioproduct development, farm machinery systems, precision farming technologies, computer vision and smart sensors for biological applications, as well as biomass storage and handling solutions.
Academic and research initiatives are customized to align with each student's goals and interests. The program encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration in agricultural and biosystems engineering studies.
