Our program spans multiple disciplines, bringing together extensive knowledge in environmental science and agronomy (including soybeans, small grains, and forages). We dedicate ourselves to enhancing current and future human well-being, economic viability, and environmental integrity by advancing our comprehension of how plants, animals, and microbes interact with soil and water in both intensively managed and compromised ecosystems. Faculty and student research focuses on diverse areas such as developing disease-resistant and nutritionally enhanced crops through genetics and breeding, soil studies, water conservation, land rehabilitation, nutrient cycling, waste treatment, boosting agricultural productivity, and restoring ecosystem services across various rural and urban environments. Additionally, we are increasingly concentrating on addressing food insecurity in developing nations, with our team actively engaged in research and community initiatives in some of the most economically challenged regions globally.
