Students pursuing a Bachelor of University Studies degree typically start by scheduling an appointment at the Career and Advising Center to discuss their career objectives and future plans with an advisor. Together, they'll develop a written statement outlining the student's educational goals, prior academic background, and a customized degree pathway. Once finalized and signed by both parties, this proposal is submitted to the Bachelor of University Studies Program Review Committee for evaluation. Upon committee approval, the plan serves as the student's official graduation requirements. All study plans must satisfy the university's core curriculum and degree completion standards. Unlike traditional majors, this interdisciplinary degree enables students to design focused concentrations aligned with their professional aspirations. Each concentration requires at least 12 credit hours, with a minimum of six at the upper-division level. Students may also opt to include an academic minor to further enhance their educational program.
