The Precision Agriculture (PAG) major within the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources is overseen by the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. This program culminates in a Bachelor of Science degree, incorporating foundational coursework in mathematics, communication, sciences, humanities, and social sciences. Students pursuing this major will engage with specialized courses covering machinery fundamentals, geospatial mapping, electrical and electronic systems, crop production basics, precision agriculture software, satellite imaging, database systems, precision farming techniques, and decision-support technologies. The program blends theoretical agricultural science education with practical technological implementation. Graduation requires completing at least 120 credit hours. The PAG curriculum caters to students from diverse backgrounds, offering flexibility to align coursework with professional aspirations. Students can complement their studies with minors in areas like farming operations, agricultural business, or interdisciplinary fields such as global studies, media, environmental stewardship, business operations, finance, or manufacturing management.
