The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Food Systems examines the complex network of processes from food production to consumption and waste management, along with the stakeholders involved and the various factors affecting or affected by these processes. The curriculum offers five specialized tracks: Climate Change and Food Systems, Food Processing and Innovation, Justice, Equity, and Community Development, Leadership and Management, and Plant and Animal Production Systems. Students may also design a custom concentration in Sustainable Food Systems.
The Food Processing and Innovation concentration focuses on food science technologies while considering the policy frameworks and cultural contexts surrounding food production. Participants will gain expertise in entrepreneurial strategies, business innovation, and commercialization techniques, equipping them to create and promote novel food products effectively.
