The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission (www.abet.org). Students in this program are strongly prepared to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, which serves as the initial requirement for professional engineering licensure. This interdisciplinary program combines engineering principles, design concepts, and biological sciences, offering two specialization tracks: agricultural engineering and biosystems engineering. Graduates with an agricultural engineering focus enjoy numerous career paths, including positions with firms and organizations that design, develop, and test agricultural machinery, manage food processing systems, create environmental controls for agricultural facilities, oversee natural resource management, develop irrigation systems, and implement technological solutions for agricultural challenges. The degree also provides excellent preparation for advanced studies in engineering, business administration, or legal fields.
