The Computing and Systems program is an interdisciplinary initiative where faculty tackle diverse challenges across civil and environmental engineering. We provide a comprehensive selection of graduate and undergraduate courses covering topics like civil engineering systems, computational techniques, numerical analysis, high-performance computing, evolutionary algorithms, stochastic processes, complex adaptive systems, IT modeling, and inverse modeling. Alumni establish careers in conventional firms, government institutions, research labs, academic settings, and leading corporations including SAS, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, GE, and Intel.

Qualification Requirements
A bachelor's degree in engineering. Most of our graduate students have a background in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (e.g., Chemical and Mechanical). Many successful students in our programs have backgrounds in a variety of engineering disciplines.
Applicants without a degree in a related field will need to take required background courses to bridge the non-engineering gap.
GPA 3.0 or above:
An overall GPA of at least 3.0/4.0.
IELTS scores with an overall band score of at least 6.5. Minimum test scores for each section are listed below: Listening 6.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.5, Speaking 6.5
TOEFL with a total score of at least 80 on the Internet-based Test (iBT), and with minimum test scores for each section of: Listening 18 points, Reading 18 points, Writing 18 points.
Computer-based TOEFL scores must be 213 or higher (with at least 17 on three sections and no section score below 13). The paper-based test requires a score of 550 or higher (with scores of 50 on at least two of the three sections and no section score below 45).
