The Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) provides two graduate programs: a research-focused Master of Science (MS) in Biomanufacturing and a professional Master of Biomanufacturing (MR). These Professional Science Master's (PSM) degrees combine specialized technical education with essential business training that employers actively seek.
Students in either program can select between upstream (fermentation) or downstream (purification) specializations, complemented by coursework in global regulatory compliance, protein analysis methods, practical studies in cGMP vaccine production, monoclonal antibody manufacturing case studies, advanced bioprocessing techniques, and mandatory industry internships. The curriculum also emphasizes professional development through training in technical and business communication skills. MBA courses are delivered by faculty from NC State's Poole College of Management through its Jenkins Graduate School.
