Statistics encompasses the scientific methods for designing experiments and surveys, effectively gathering and presenting numerical data, and drawing accurate conclusions from samples. Professionals in this field frequently collaborate with experts in biology, economics, engineering, medicine, public health, psychology, marketing, education, and athletics. Scientific sampling techniques have become fundamental in areas like meteorological predictions, public opinion research, biological and agricultural assessments, and commercial forecasting. Statisticians are sought after in any field involving quantitative analysis. The Department fosters an engaging atmosphere for instruction, fundamental research, and interdisciplinary projects, offering specialized tracks in genetic, environmental, and industrial statistics, alongside biostatistics, bioinformatics, and biomathematics. Additionally, it maintains robust initiatives in statistics education, theoretical statistics, and diverse applied research.
Freshman applicants must submit an official high school transcript (academic record)
IELTS Academic: 6.5 or higher (minimum of 6.5 in each sub score)
TOEFL IBT: 85 or higher (minimum of 18 in each sub score)
PTE Academic: 62 or higher (minimum of 53 in each sub score)
English Composition I and II from an accredited U.S. College or University: Grade of C or higher
