Poultry Science educates individuals on breeding and caring for chickens, turkeys, and ducks to produce eggs and meat efficiently. This field combines biological and chemical knowledge to enhance poultry farming outcomes. The curriculum covers animal diet and food processing sciences. Beyond supplying high-quality, nutrient-rich food, poultry studies have greatly advanced fundamental biological research. Breakthroughs in areas like human nutrition, genetic science, disease resistance, growth processes, toxin effects, bioengineering, and medicine frequently rely on bird-based studies. Notably, numerous vaccines for humans originated from research using chicken and duck embryos. Key discoveries about our immune defenses were initially observed in avian subjects. Similarly, many essential vitamins were identified through poultry dietary investigations. Whether as a protein source or a research model for human health, poultry plays a vital role in improving lives.
