Environmental Technology is a growing scientific discipline that bridges environmental policy & law, renewable energy, sustainability, environmental evaluation, hazardous substance handling, and environmental management systems. Through practical applications, learners implement academic concepts to address environmental issues using monitoring, analysis, management, and communication strategies. These hands-on activities aim to tackle environmental concerns in air, water, soil/sediment, and ecosystems with contemporary tools and techniques. The Environmental Technology Program offers multiple professional certifications. Completing ET 301 grants students the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-hour certification, mandatory for personnel responding to hazardous material incidents and cleanup operations. Successful completion of ET 303 awards students the OSHA 30-hour General Industry safety certification for industrial workplace environments.
