Biologists are driven by a deep curiosity about life and its processes. At N.C State, undergraduates have the option to follow either a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology. The BS program covers diverse disciplines, with five distinct pathways to fulfill the Biological Sciences degree requirements. Those pursuing Biological Sciences can select a broad-based program (BLS) or specialize by choosing one of four concentrations: Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCD), Integrative Physiology and Neurobiology (IPN), Human Biology (HB), or Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology (EEC). Our programs are structured to deliver comprehensive training in biology alongside essential chemistry, physics, and mathematics coursework. Advanced course requirements differ across specializations (detailed below), yet all allow students to tailor their studies to align with personal interests and professional aspirations. While rigorous, our Biological Science degree requirements equip graduates to thrive in dynamic, multifaceted scientific fields.
