The Master of Science in Biology offers comprehensive training in contemporary biological sciences, covering specialized areas such as cellular biology, molecular biology, microbiology, physiology, neuroscience, immunology, genetics, genomics, and systems biology. This flexible program accommodates both part-time and full-time students, allowing them to customize their academic journey by designing personalized course sequences and research projects. Participants benefit from interdisciplinary partnerships across NYU's academic units, including the Chemistry and Physics departments, NYU Langone Medical School, the College of Dentistry, the Center for Neural Science, the Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences, and the New York Genome Center. Applicants for admission to the M.S. program must have successfully completed an undergraduate major in a science or followed a pre-health curriculum (B average or better generally required) and must submit three letters of recommendation. You must receive your undergraduate degree (U.S. baccalaureate or equivalent) from an institution of recognized standing before enrollment in the Graduate School.
