The Dual-Degree program in Science and Engineering, offered in partnership with NYU Tandon School of Engineering (previously called Polytechnic School of Engineering), enables academically driven, technically inclined students to combine a liberal arts science major with a conventional engineering curriculum. This option is perfect for those passionate about STEM fields who also desire a well-rounded liberal arts foundation before diving into engineering studies. After five years, participants earn two Bachelor of Science degrees—one from the College of Arts and Science and another from NYU Tandon. Graduates with this dual qualification often secure outstanding career prospects.
Program participants fulfill all College Core Curriculum obligations except the foreign language requirement, which is waived. (Their mandatory math and science coursework naturally meets the Scientific Inquiry Foundations criteria.) The schedule allows some flexibility in course sequencing, and those with AP credits may reduce their semester workload or create space for additional elective choices.
