The Bachelor of Science in Global Public Health/Applied Psychology offers an interdisciplinary curriculum blending psychological theories, research methods, and practical applications with public health fundamentals to enhance health outcomes across diverse communities. This undergraduate program aligns with the Department of Applied Psychology's mission to equip students with the skills to analyze and address human development in various cultural and environmental settings.
Through the College of Global Public Health, students complete foundational courses in six key public health domains: Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Environmental Health, Sociobehavioral Health, and an Internship. A distinctive feature of this major is its hands-on fieldwork component in both psychology and global public health, allowing students to translate classroom learning into real-world research and practice. The curriculum explores subjects including developmental, abnormal, and community psychology, women's mental health, human sexuality, epidemiology, health policy, research methodologies, and group behavior. This program serves as strong preparation for advanced studies in psychology, public health, business, law, and related fields.
