NYU's Dual-Degree program in Science and Engineering, offered through the Tandon School of Engineering (previously called Polytechnic School of Engineering), enables academically strong, driven students with technical interests to combine a liberal arts science major with a conventional engineering curriculum. This five-year pathway perfectly suits those passionate about STEM fields who also desire a well-rounded liberal arts foundation before diving into engineering studies. Graduates earn two Bachelor of Science degrees - one from the College of Arts and Science and another from NYU Tandon - making them highly competitive in the job market.
Participants fulfill all College Core Curriculum obligations except foreign language, which is waived. (Their mandatory math and science coursework naturally covers the Foundations of Scientific Inquiry component.) The program offers scheduling flexibility for certain courses, and students entering with AP credits may reduce their semester workload or explore additional elective options.
